The API 6D trunnion mounted ball valve has two floating seats with springs loaded, in which the ball is fixed at two pivot points, and the process pressure pushes the upstream seat against the ball's sealing surface. This design applies continuous pressure against a trunnion mounted ball after the ball is installed. The Trunnion mounted Ball Valves are widely used in oil and gas industry.

The family of API 6D trunnion mounted ball valve are classified into 3pcs forged body Trunnion Valve, 2pcs cast steel body Trunnion Ball Valve, and one pc forged body top entry trunnion ball valve. The one pc forged body top entry trunnion ball can avoid the leaking risk from the connection between body and closure. The other advantage of top entry ball valve design is it makes the emergency on-line maintenance to be easier and quicker, because the valve ball needn’t to be removed from pipe line.
